6 July 2010

Tuesday
cloudy/drizzle

We drove into town and started our day with breakfast sandwiches at Coastal before I took my camera and spent most of the day walking around town shopping and talking pictures. It's hard to find a present for 6 and 7 year old boys that they won't break within 5 minutes of getting it. I did stop in a store and buy a real raincoat before we had anymore rain.

Images around town

Barn at low tide
Side of someone's house
Tree from same house
Rope lying on the ground
Life vests, they leave these for anyone to use and they don't get stolen. Small town living.
Two barns at low tide. When the tide comes in the stilts are covered about 1/2 way up .

We had to spend some time in the afternoon working on the water pump for the house. We didn't have running water, although I was getting used to using bottled water and the outhouse it would have been nice to have the pump working. My friend did end up getting the pump working, the day after I left.

We ended the day with a trip into town for pizza. It's amazing how all the activity in the day really wears you out. It's also very deceiving that no matter what time you go to bed it's still light out.
